HP unveils cloud partner program

Hewlett-Packard launched its CloudSystem partner program for users to develop cloud skills and receive guidance on the necessary business model changes.

Ramping up its cloud offerings, Hewlett-Packard Co. launched its CloudSystem partner program this week, allowing users to begin making money immediately, reports CRN.

The new, detailed program gives partners the necessary tools to develop cloud skills, offers guidance on the business model changes the cloud requires and is based in HP's CloudSystem, which provides the technologies for delivering and managing cloud systems, the article states.

By this summer, partners will also be able to sell CloudStart, which is composed of software and services to build and deploy a private cloud within 30 days, Frank Rauch, vice president of channel sales at HP's Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking group, told CRN.

HP, of Palo Alto, Calif., ranks No. 12 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
