HP changes partner program for marketing funds
Company hopes changes will improve efficiency
Hewlett-Packard Co. announced to channel partners changes to its market development funds accounting process that it believes will increase its efficiency and make it more proactive.
The changes are aimed at reducing auditing interactions and making the accounting process more forward-looking, writes Kevin McLaughlin in a CRN report.
Beginning May 1, partners will be required to log into HP’s Business Planning Application, enter claims for each request, upload their proof-of-spend and submit claims, if they want to receive the requested funds.

In addition, the company revealed changes in how it informs partners about PartnerONE program modifications. It will extend its notice from 30-days to three months. PartnerONE is an integrated partner program that offers the infrastructure needed to grow sales and increase profitability, according to HP’s website.
HP, of Palo Alto, Calif., ranks No. 12 on Washington Technology's 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
