QinetiQ continues FEMA, DHS integration services

2-year option is worth $15.6 million

QinetiQ North America has won a two-year option award worth up to $15.6 million to continue to provide Asset Tracking Services to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Under FEMA’s Total Asset Visibility Program, QinetiQ will continue integration of the Homeland Security Department’s and FEMA’s technical architecture as well as surge capabilities for disaster operations, according to a QinetiQ announcement released today.

Additionally, QinetiQ North America will provide asset tracking devices and supplemental equipment as well as Global Positioning System messaging services to locate tagged assets or shipments, secure sharing of data feeds and messaging, provide technical support for ongoing operations and maintenance, and offer surge capabilities for disaster operations.

QinetiQ North America, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 40 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
