SAIC Capitol Hill liaison moves to new position

Andrew Jazwick is named senior vice president of aviation security

Science Applications International Corp.’s point person on Capitol Hill has a new job.

Andrew Jazwick has been named SAIC's senior vice president of aviation security. He will help deliver threat detection products and services to key customers for the company’s Security and Transportation Technology business unit, according to an SAIC announcement.

In his new role, Jazwick will focus on developing customer relationships related to SAIC’s acquisition of Reveal Imaging Technologies Inc. in August of this year.

That acquisition expanded SAIC’s homeland security solutions portfolio by adding Transportation Security Administration-approved Explosive Detection System baggage screening systems to the company’s Vehicle and Cargo Inspection System for passengers and cargo.

Since joining SAIC in 1999, Jazwick has served as a liaison to the executive and legislative branches of the government and has advised the SAIC leadership on legislative policy initiatives.

Most recently he served as vice president for government affairs responsible for communicating and representing the company’s defense, homeland security, intelligence and international programs before Congress.

Jazwick has more than 20 years of intergovernmental affairs, policy and business development experience, including work in opportunity and market analysis, bid and proposal development, and program-project execution.

SAIC, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.

His first assignment was to lay off 70 or the 172 employees at Reveal Imaging. Has that been announced yet SAIC?
