SRA completes acquisition of Platinum Solutions

Purchase expands contractor's mission systems capabilities

SRA International Inc. has completed its $90 million acquisition of Platinum Solutions Inc., a privately held systems integrator and software developer.

Platinum Solutions specializes in developing customized software applications and providing data management solutions for national security, law enforcement, counterterrorism and health care government customers. It has nearly 200 employees.

The company is based in Reston, Va., and has offices in Bridgeport, W.Va.; Pittsburgh; and Rockville, Md.

The acquisition expands SRA’s mission systems capabilities.

The company also will benefit from Platinum Solutions’ established delivery model for mission-oriented IT solutions and gain additional software integration and development qualifications with clients in national security, intelligence, and civilian agencies, SRA said in announcing its intention to acquire Platinum last month.

SRA International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 30 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
