Former Army general to provide DOD strategy for ITT

Kenneth Hunzeker named government relations VP

ITT Corp. has named Kenneth Hunzeker vice president of government relations for the company’s Defense and Information Solutions segment in McLean, Va.

Hunzeker, who will report to David Melcher, president of ITT Defense and Information Solutions, will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships at the senior level of the Defense Department, military service staffs and government agencies and will be a focal point for coordinating a technical interface with these customers, according to an ITT statement released today.

He also is tasked with long-range marketing strategy and business planning as well as building relationships with members of Congress, their staffs and congressional committees to provide guidance on proposed legislation and regulation issues that have an impact on ITT Defense programs.

Before joining ITT, Hunzeker had a 35-year career in the Army, rising to the rank of lieutenant general.

Most recently, he served as deputy commander of United States Forces Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He received a master’s degree in system technology from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., and a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from National Defense University in Washington, D.C. He received his bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

ITT Corp., of White Plains, N.Y., ranks No. 14 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
