Alion continues modeling, simulation services to Army

Army Modeling and Simulation Office will use Alion’s expertise to manage processes throughout service

Alion Science and Technology Corp. will continue to provide modeling and simulation services to the Army under a $3.6 million task order.

The contract enables the Army Modeling and Simulation Office (AMSO) to take advantage of Alion’s expertise to support its oversight role in managing modeling and simulation processes throughout the Army, according to an Alion statement.

As part of the ongoing effort, Alion will provide subject-matter expertise and services to support AMSO and the Modeling and Simulation Proponent Office’s mission to train and supply qualified modeling and simulation professionals to the Army, recruit and manage them, and create a fully trained Army modeling and simulation community.

Alion personnel will also analyze technical requirements and conduct staff-level research.

AMSO guides, integrates, and synchronizes strategic modeling and simulation efforts throughout the Army to create unity of effort and purpose, the company said.

Alion, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 41 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
