Harris names new VP and general manager of DOD unit

Mike Deloney succeeds John Heller

Harris Corp. has named Mike Deloney vice president and general manager of Defense Department Programs for its IT services business, reporting to John Heller, president of Harris IT Services.

Deloney, who has been vice president of Harris IT Services’ Air Force Programs since joining the company in 2009, succeeds John Heller, who was named president of Harris IT Services earlier this month.

In his new role, Deloney will be responsible for the entire DOD business area that includes the Air Force, Army and Navy as well as customer interface, program execution and business development, according to a company announcement released today.

Specifically, he will develop strategies and methods to deliver innovative mission-critical solutions to the global customer base and to achieve the company’s growth objectives, the announcement states.

Deloney has amassed more than 30 years’ experience in industry and the Air Force, including as president of Global Strategies Group of North America Inc.; vice president of the Federal Government Group at Unisys Corp; as well as executive positions in business development/program roles with Computer Sciences Corp. and CACI International Inc.

Deloney has a master’s degree in business administration from Golden Gate University and a bachelor’s degree from the Air Force Academy.

Harris Corp., of Melbourne, Fla., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
