Raytheon task order will bolster Army support system

Task order calls for logistics support of Battle Command Sustainment Support System

Raytheon Co. will provide logistics support for the Army’s Battle Command Sustainment Support System (BCS3) under a three-year Battle Command Development indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract that could be worth as much as $90 million if all options are exercised.

BCS3 is a logistics command and control system designed to improve situational awareness and the speed of decision making for warfighters, according to a Northrop announcement today.

The system provides a visual map of crucial sustainment information for warfighters and fuses information needed to define the tactical environment.

Under the task order, Raytheon and its teammates Tapestry Solutions, Intercon and Software Professional Solutions will supply necessary field support, help desk, system and server maintenance, and training to users around the globe, the company said.

The win positions the team for a wide range of task order awards across all Battle Command Development program domains, Andy Zogg, Raytheon Network Centric Systems vice president of Command and Control Systems, said in a statement.

Raytheon, of Waltham, Mass., ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal contractors.
