SRA wins $100M DOD award for grant assistance

Contractor will use IT applications to expedite reviews

SRA International Inc. will use its specialized information technology services to assist the Defense Department’s scientific review of research grant applications under a re-competed contract with a potential value of $100 million over five years.

The centerpiece of SRA’s support for DOD’s Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs and other scientific peer review clients is its proprietary Program and Peer Review Management Information System application, known as P2RMIS.

The application’s support of the scientific review process includes online application evaluation and scoring, meeting and travel support, document management and information reporting.

P2RMIS also houses a database of thousands of scientific professionals who have served on peer review panels and who are available to serve, SRA said Aug. 10.

SRA has provided a broad range of services supporting the scientific and technical merit review of thousands of research grant applications received by the Army Medical Research and Materiel Command.

SRA International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 30 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal contractors.
