SAIC gains $35M task order to aid Naval Surface Warfare Center
Contractor will provide technical, training and armory management support
Science Applications International Corp. has been awarded a five-year task order that could be worth more than $35 million to assist the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division with technical, training and armory management support.
The task order under the Navy's SeaPort-e contract calls for SAIC to continue supporting Crane’s Joint Forces Training and Support Branch with a wide range of classroom training, logistics documentation and technical manual updating, according to an SAIC announcement made today.
The contractor will provide software update support for training equipment related to systems such as small arms weapons, ground-based operational surveillance and night vision devices.
SAIC will also develop a computer-based training system for use in NSWC Crane’s e-learning environment.
NSWC Crane is a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command that focuses on strategic and special missions, and electronic warfare/information operations, the company said.
The division maintains a full spectrum of research, development, acquisition support, and test and evaluation capabilities for the Defense Department.
The work will be done at NSWC Crane in Crane, Ind. and other locations as required.
