Northrop leads team to aid FEMA
Company will provide operational support for regional preparedness exercises

Northrop Grumman Corp. will provide operational support for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s regional preparedness exercises under a 20-month, $5.5 million task order.
Under the terms of the task order, the company will support homeland security preparedness exercises in the 28 states and U.S. territories in FEMA regions VI through X, which includes the south central United States to the West Coast.
The company will design, develop, conduct, evaluate and provide operational support for the exercises.
The Northrop Grumman team includes Battelle, of Columbus, Ohio; ICF International Inc., of Fairfax, Va.; DETech, of Champaign, Ill.; and General Physics Corp., of Elkridge, Md.
The award stems from the larger Homeland Security Department National Exercise Program indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract.
In the past two years Northrop Grumman has supported the last Regional Exercise Support Program Task Order as well as the 2009 National Level Exercise, said Rob Womelsdorf, Northrop Grumman Technical Services program manager for the task order.
Northrop Grumman, of Los Angeles, ranks No. 2 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
