CSC extends information management services at Aberdeen

$79M task order covers a full range of command and control support

Computer Sciences Corp. will continue providing information management support and services at the Army’s Aberdeen, Md., Proving Ground under a five-year contract valued at $79 million.

The task order covers a full range of command, control, communications, computers and information management support and services.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Log.Sec, a CSC company, will provide help desk and data center operations and maintenance services to the Directorate of Information Management; Team Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance; and other tenant agencies at Aberdeen.

Services will include network infrastructure support, software development, project management and quality control, according to an announcement made Jan. 5 by CSC.

The task order, which has a one-year base period and four one-year options, was awarded under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract.

CSC acquired Log.Sec Corp. in December 2008. It is the largest information technology services provider at Aberdeen, with approximately 385 employees there and at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

Log.Sec provides specialized logistics services, including life cycle, acquisition and sustainment, as well as a full complement of test support to clients in the government sector, according to CSC.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 9 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
