Deltek purchases mySBX to strengthen services offerings

Acquisition will broaden Deltek's reach in the government contracting world

Deltek Inc. has acquired mySBX, an online community that enables government contractors to rapidly identify opportunities, manage resources and expand their business.

The financial terms were not released.

Based in Reston, Va., mySBX  is an online network where government contractors of all sizes and independent professionals can go to publish and secure new opportunities, find qualified partners, identify and place resources, and collaborate in communities that focus on areas important to business.

The mySBX network is comprised of more than 7,000 participants, and marquee customers that include Lockheed Martin Corp. and Serco.

The acquisition of mySBX significantly expands Deltek’s reach in the government contracting world, Kevin Parker, president and chief executive officer of Deltek, said in a statement today.

“Government contractors use mySBX every day to partner with subcontractors, collaborate on bids, comply with government requirements, and share best practices,” he said. “We will invest in mySBX to further the value of this dynamic community and to deliver innovative solutions for our customers.”

Using MySBX.com, member companies can search for potential contract partners according to various categories: specific keyword, number of employees, annual revenue, previous customers, North American Industry Classification System codes and several other qualifiers.

Jeff White, president and CEO, founded mySBX at the end of 2007. He launched the mySBX.com website in September 2009, after about four months of beta testing.

“Over the last several years, the mySBX network has grown substantially and driven value for all of its participants,” White said in the statement.

“By aligning our customers and community with Deltek, we will leverage the software company’s deep research and development assets, market leadership position, and strong financial resources to expand mySBX’s offering to the marketplace,” he said.

In May 2009,mySBX entered into a partnership with the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s (NVTC) Entrepreneur Center to exchange partnering opportunities and to assist NVTC member companies expand business and increase profitability.

Deltek, of Herndon, Va., is a provider of enterprise applications software and solutions for government and commercial businesses.
