CACI expands DOD financial management support

CACI International Inc. will provide financial management support to the Defense Department under a four-year task order worth $29 million.
The prime contract, awarded under the Navy’s SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) contract, calls for CACI to assist DOD's Joint Staff Comptroller by providing new financial management functions through a suite of integrated systems, according to a company statement today.
The JS Comptroller manages all financial resources of the Joint Staff, including planning, programming, budgeting and financial execution, and oversees the JS internal management control and quality management programs.
The comptroller also is the primary adviser for financial and acquisition initiatives to the DOD’s Joint Staff Director and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
CACI will use Momentum, a financial management solution that is commercially available, to streamline JS processes that will provide real-time budget updates and reduce data entry, general ledger and financial statements.
The upgrade also will boost visibility of resources across the Joint Staff, enabling informed and rapid decision-making, CACI said.
This award also calls for installing procurement and acquisition capabilities in addition to the financial resources and expertise already in place.
CACI has been providing financial services support to the comptroller since 2002, company officials said.
