Contractor to provide information assurance, network support and communications services

Science Applications International Corp. will furnish a variety of information technology and network support services to the Army's Director of Information Management at Fort Polk, La., under a task order potentially worth $30 million over five years.

Fort Polk's Director of Information Management provides the military installation with telephone and data infrastructure support, including network management and security, help desk services, Web services and training.

Under the contract, SAIC will deliver a range of IT support including information assurance; automation and network support; and telephone, wireless and data communications services, company officials said today.

The contract has a one-year base period and four one-year options. The task order was awarded under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions - 2 Services contract.

Fort Polk is home to the Joint Readiness Training Center, which helps improve military readiness by providing realistic combined arms training.

San Diego-based SAIC ranks No. 7 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
