Former BearingPoint exec joins ACS

Former BearingPoint Inc. executive Kevin Shelly has joined Affiliated Computer Services Inc. to oversee its government sales teams.

Shelly, who will help the company achieve its strategic growth targets, will be based in Washington and report to Joe Doherty, president of ACS Government Solutions Group, the company said.

Shelly spent the past 10 years leading BearingPoint sales teams serving the state, local and higher education markets. Before that, he directed government sales at Sybase Inc. and worked in federal sales at Oracle Corp.

Shelly holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina. He serves as chairman of TechAmerica’s Committee on Government Procurement Reform.

ACS, of Dallas, provides business process and information technology services to commercial and government clients. It ranks No. 58 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
