Bearingpoint plays matchmaker on Twitter

Social networking links for people working in and around government are now available free on a Web site launched by BearingPoint Inc. as part of Twitter.

Twitter is a social networking and blogging tool that lets users create posts of 140 characters or less. The new compilation site, called GovTwit, was launched Nov. 20.

With Twitter, users publish updates about what they're doing, things they've read or anything other information they want to share, and the new site has links to agency executives, politicians, journalists and others.

The GovTwit database contains the Twitter IDs and links to official government blogs and URLs noted in Twitter biographies.
