ITT wins Navy radar upgrade contract modification

ITT Industries Inc. has won a $14.2 million modification to a contract the company holds to upgrade a key Navy radar system.

Under the contract, ITT Industries of Van Nuys, Calif., will provide engineering and technical services to design, integrate and test the AN/SPS-48G(V) Radar System upgrade.

The company expects to have the new work completed by June 2010, the Defense Department said.

The company announced in April 2006 that it had won a four-year, $8.1 million contract to modernize the radar system. The radar system provides 3-D long-range air surveillance for fixed, ground-based and shipboard uses.

ITT Industries is a unit of ITT Corp. of White Plains, N.Y. The parent company ranks No. 16 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
