Hansen to lead AeA

AeA has tapped Christopher Hansen to replace long-time President and Chief Executive Officer William Archey as the leader of the 2,500-member high-tech trade association.

Hansen most recently was the group executive president of AARP. Before AARP, he was senior vice president of government relations for the Boeing Co. He also has worked for General Dynamics Corp.

Archey is retiring after spending 13 years leading the trade association, which formerly was known as the American Electronics Association.

Hansen will plan to start Nov. 8. He and Archey will overlap until February to ensure a smooth transition, AeA said.
