Otto joins Agilex Technologies

Robert Otto, former chief technology officer and chief information officer of the U.S. Postal Service, has joined Agilex Technologies Inc.

He will serve as executive vice president of advisory services at the Chantilly, Va., application solutions company.

Otto has almost four decades of federal service, including 27 years at USPS, where he oversaw the standardization of the Postal Service's IT systems. Under his leadership USPS consolidated 15,000 servers at hundreds of locations across the country to just 3,000 servers at two IT centers, saving $30 million a year.

The company said it plans to leverage Otto's IT skills for customer engagements and in special CIO seminars it will host.

Agiliex government customers include the Agriculture, Defense and Treasury departments, Coast Guard, General Services Administration and USPS.
