GTSI awarded $63M FAA IT hardware deal

GTSI Corp. of Chantilly, Va., has been awarded a purchasing vehicle contract worth up to $63 million to consolidate the Federal Aviation Administration's procurement of IT peripherals.

The contract comes under FAA's Strategic Sourcing for the Acquisition of Various Equipment and Supplies Program, part of FAA's Flight Plan goal to control costs. The SAVES Program also will help FAA standardize on technology, consolidate buying and monitor IT spending.

The contract is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for one base year and four option years.

GTSI will provide services involving hardware from Sun Microsystems Inc. and Cisco Systems Inc., including Sun UltraSparc and AMD Opteron servers, Sun storage arrays, Cisco routers and switches, and other equipment. GTSI also will stage, integrate and asset tag all equipment purchased.
