Engility names two teammates for $248M counter-WMD contract

Engility has named two of its teammates on a $247.9 million contract to combat weapons of mass destruction.

Engility is teaming with ANSER and AECOM on a $247.9 million contract to provide advisory and assistance services to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Research and Development Directorate.

The company is also teaming with a number of other small businesses, but was unable to give up their names.

Under the contract, the Engility-led team will provide technical consulting, systems engineering and technical assistance in order to support efforts to counter weapons of mass destruction, the company said in a release.

Work will be performed at Fort Belvoir, Va., Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., and Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., and is expected to be completed in April 2021 with options. The contract’s base value is $42 million with an end date of April 2017, the Defense Department said.

This contract was bid as a best-value procurement, but since Engility was the only bidder, DTRA entered into negotiations with them directly, the Defense Department said.
