Northrop Grumman has won a $47.8 million contract with the Navy to develop the replacement inertial navigation system.

The base value of this contract is $19.8 million, but options push the value to $47.8 million.

The inertial navigation system supports the new Navy Assured Positioning Navigation and Timing architecture being developed by the Navy which provides increased navigation accuracy in challenging maritime combat environments.

Work will be performed in Charlottesville, Va.
