The General Services Administration is trying to improve federal acquisition across civilian and defense agencies by adopting an agile and iterative approach, according to the Federal Times.

The agency is working with other agencies to create a marketplace with cost savings, reduced duplication of acquisition programs and better procurement decisions, and in order to do so has been working on initiatives like the Common Acquisition Platform (CAP) and category management.

CAP will allow agency customers to select contract vehicles, compare prices on various contracts and connect with other federal procurement experts, Federal Times reported.
