L-3 Communications wins $61M contract to add ISR capabilities onto aircraft

L-3 Communications has won a $61 million contract with the Air Force to improve the situational awareness capabilities on two King Air 350 aircraft to be used by Saudi Arabia.

L-3 Communications has won a $61 million contract with the Air Force to improve the situational awareness capabilities on two King Air 350 aircraft to be used by Saudi Arabia.

Used by the Air Force and Navy, along with a number of countries worldwide, the Beechcraft-manufactured King Air 350 is used mainly for transportation.

Under the contract, L-3 Communications will integrate intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities onto two King Air 350 aircraft, according to the Defense Department.

Work will be performed in Greenville, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2015.

This contract is fully a foreign military sales contract for Saudi Arabia.
