Who won May's biggest contracts?

While contract award momentum slowed a little in May, there was still a great deal of awards made—61, to be exact. That’s right in the same range as the 69 in April and the 65 in March.

To make the list this time around, you have to have won a contract more than $101 million.

May also was a good month for international contracts, with three of those contracts grabbing spots on the Top 10.

The top contract awards for May kicks off at number 10:

10. Lockheed wins $101.9M software award for Israeli F-35 fighters

Lockheed Martin Corp. has won a $101.9 million contract modification to work on the mission systems software and logistics development for F-35 fighters being purchased by Israel.

9. Raytheon wins $115.5M contract to upgrade weapon system

Raytheon Co. has won a $115.5 million contract to upgrade the Navy’s MK15 Phalanx Close-In Weapon System (CIWS).

8. SAIC wins $192M contract to upgrade amphibious vehicles

Science Applications International Corp. has won a $192 million contract with the Marine Corps to support the Legacy Assault Amphibious Vehicle Personnel Carrier Variant Platform program.

7. BAE, SAIC win $206M contract for amphibious vehicles design

BAE Systems Land & Armaments and SAIC have won Marine Corps amphibious vehicle contracts worth up to nearly $206 million.

6. General Atomics wins $297M Army UAV modification

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has won a nearly $297 million contract modification to support Army UAV fleets.

5. PAE joint venture wins $544M U.K. contract

PAE’s U.K. joint venture has landed a $544 million contract to manage several military training ranges in Great Britain.

4. Exelis nabs two subcontracts worth $617M to support U.K. project

Exelis has won two subcontracts totaling $617 million to help General Dynamics U.K. support the U.K. Ministry of Defence.

3. 7 win $876.9M Navy training contract

Seven companies are now lined up to compete for $876.9 million in training and education task orders for the Navy.

The companies won contracts under the Joint Force Development program to provide adaptive support for training and real world operations by offering academic education, training assessment, experimentation in warfighting solutions and infrastructure.

2. Sikorsky bags $1.24B presidential helicopter test aircraft contract

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. has picked up a $1.24 billion contract to support the overhaul of the presidential helicopter fleet.

1. $22B Eagle II lands with 68 winners

The Homeland Security Department has probably cleared up the bid protest issues around its Eagle II contract by making awards to nearly all the bidders.

After getting flooded with bid protests following up the awards of contracts to 15 companies in the unrestricted competition for the service delivery portion of the $22 billion contract, DHS has made new awards to 68 companies.

The contract is currently being protested by a number of companies.
