Maersk wins Navy ISR vessel contract

Maersk Line Ltd. has won a $7 million contract option for the support of seven Navy surveillance ships.

Maersk Line Ltd. has won a $7 million contract option for the support of seven Navy surveillance ships.

The Norfolk, Va.-based company’s three-month option is a modification of a previously-awarded contract, and entails the operation and maintenance of five Navy ocean surveillance ships and two Navy missile range instrumentation ships.

The vessels support Navy sonar and Air Force radar monitoring systems worldwide.

Work will be performed at sea, and is expected to be completed by July 2014.

Working capital funds of $7,117,355 were obligated at the time of the award and will not expire at the end of the fiscal year.
