Seven win $50M contract for anti-submarine work

Three small business and four large have won spots on a $50 million contract with the Naval Air Systems Command to support anti-submarine warfare sensor systems.

The companies will will compete for task orders under the contract.

The small business winners are:

• ASEC Inc.
• NAVMAR Applied Sciences Corp.
• RBC Inc.

The large business winners are:

• Science Applications International Corp.
• Engility Corp.
• Lockheed Martin
• Booz Allen Hamiton

According to an announcement by SAIC, the contract be used to provide technical and scientific research and development along with integration, analysis and test and evaluation services for the sensors.

Most of the sensors will deployed on manned or unmanned aircraft, but ground, surface and undersea sensors may also be included if required by the mission, the company said.

SAIC's services will include planning, technology development, systems definition, systems integration and product support for manned and unmanned platform avionics and sensors that support the Navy's Acoustic Systems Division and the Electro-Optics and Special Mission Systems Division.
