SAIC names new sector president

SAIC names one of the architects of its split to a sector president position, replacing Deborah Lee James, the new secretary of the Air Force.

Doug Wagoner has become a new sector president for Science Applications International Corp., replacing Deborah Lee James, who has been confirmed as secretary of the Air Force.

Wagoner most notably managed the project management office for SAIC’s Project Gemini, which is what the former SAIC called the effort to divide into two companies, SAIC and Leidos.

As a sector president, Wagoner will be responsible for deployment of employees, technology development and thought leadership, the company said. He’ll also oversee work involving network integration, emerging IT and managed services solutions, software and hardware integration, mission and systems engineering technical assistance, logistics and supply chain and training and simulation.

He joined SAIC in 2007, and ran the company’s homeland and civilian solutions unit. He also managed SAIC’s state, local and commercial IT business.

Before SAIC, he was a senior vice president at Data Systems Analysts and a vice president at Choice Point. He also previously worked at EDS.
