GDIT nabs $16M contract for Afghan IT work

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $16 million task order to provide the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with information technology management services in Afghanistan.

This task order was awarded under the ITES-2S contract, which the company won in 2006.

Under the order, GDIT will install, manage and upgrade a variety of IT infrastructures and systems in Afghanistan. All work will support the Corps’ Middle East District reconstruction and infrastructure-development programs, the company said in a release.

General Dynamics has supported the Army Corps of Engineers for more than five years now, said Zannie Smith, senior vice president of GDIT’s National and Homeland Security division.
