Lockheed Martin has won a $345 million contract with the Army to operate and sustain the Persistent Threat Detection System in Afghanistan.
Lockheed Martin has won a $345 million contract with the Army to operate and sustain the Persistent Threat Detection System in Afghanistan.
The PTDS system provides real-time, around-the-clock reconaissance and surveillance for warfighters. It carries different types of surveillance equipment to deliver constant day and night, 360 degree detection, surveillance, monitoring and force protection, Lockheed said in a release.
Work will be performed in theater in Afghanistan.
"PTDS has proven to be a critical asset for the protection of our forces and thoe of our allies," said Jim Quinn, vice president of C4ISR Systems within Lockheed Martin's IS&GS group.
