SAP has named Joe Kernan and Ron Police to be executives within its National Security Services business. Police will be a senior vice president and Kernan will be a VP of business development.

SAP has named two new executives to its National Security Services business.

Vice admiral Joe Kernan, USN, Ret., has joined the company as vice president of business development, and Ron Police has been tapped to be senior vice president.

In his new role, Kernan will take his 36 years of active duty service and experience in specials ops and international affairs and advise the company and its customers on national security and technology, SAP said.

He started his career as an engineering officer on Navy surface ships and then joined the SEALs. He eventually became commander of Naval Special Warfare Command in 2007. He later was commander of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. Fourth Fleet. He also served as senior military assistant to former Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Police joins SAP from Apple, where he was responsible for business to government markets. Before that, he spent 17 years at Oracle in a number of senior vice president and vice president roles.
