Draper Labs wins $15.6M Navy R&D contract

Charles Stark Draper Laboratory has won a $15.6 million contract to provide engineering and technical services to the U.S. Navy.

Charles Stark Draper Laboratory Inc. has won a $15.6 million contract with the U.S. Navy for engineering and technical services.

These engineering and technical services will be in areas of studies, analyses, engineering, component development, prototyping, development, test integration, operational demonstration and research and development, the Defense Department said.

The services will be in support of both hardware and software in order to maintain various Navy systems over their lifecycle.

Work will be performed in Cambridge, Mass., and is expected to be completed by February 2019.

Funding will be obligated at a later time, and will not expire at the end of that fiscal year.

Draper Labs is a not-for-profit R&D firm that works on projects involving security, space exploration, health care and energy.
