Northrop-Lockheed venture wins $51M contract to sell radars to South Korea
Longbow LLC, a joint venture of Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, has won a $51 million contract with South Korea to provide the country with fire control radars for its Apache attack helicopters.
Longbow LLC has won a $51 million foreign military sales contract to provide South Korea with Longbow Fire Control Radars for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter.
Longbow is a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman.
Under the contract, the company will provide six radar systems, spares and in-country support.
Work will take place in Ocala, Fla., Orlando Fla., Baltimore, Md., and in Korea, and is expected to be completed by 2016.
“The Republic of Korea is the 10th international customer for LONGBOW systems,” said Tom Eldredge, LONGBOW LLC president and director of LONGBOW programs at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
The company has been providing Apache aircrews with target detection, location, classification and prioritization since 1998, Lockheed Martin said.
