Small business wins first $25M prime contract

TISTA Science and Technology Corp. has won a $25 million contract to provide a number of financial and audit services to the Veterans Affairs Department.

Correction: This article has been corrected to say that this contract is TISTA's first prime contract with the VA, as opposed to it being the company's first ever prime contract.

TISTA Science and Technology Corp. has won its first prime contract with the Veterans Affairs Department, worth $25 million, to provide financial process improvement, audit readiness and remediation to the department.

TISTA is a small disabled veteran-owned small business, and is currently in the 8(a) set aside program.

Under the set-aside contract, TISTA will provide services including audit readiness and internal control; corrective action plan and process improvement follow-up; planning and performance measurement; trend analysis; facilitation, liaison and decision support services; audit liaison assistance; financial management system support; and improper payment elimination, the company said in a release.

"Being a disabled veteran, I am very proud that TISTA continues to support this agency that is focused on our country's veterans," said Ahmed Ali, TISTA president and chairman.
