SAIC nabs $7M contract to provide Fleet Forces Command with integrated training
SAIC has won a $7 million Navy contract to provide the U.S. Fleet Forces Command with integrated training and support and execution. The contract was awarded without competition.
Science Applications International Corp. has won a $7 million contract to provide the U.S. Navy with integrated training support and execution for U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
The contract also extends to associated fleet commands and activities conducting fleet training, the Defense Department said.
Work will be performed in Virginia Beach, Va., Norfolk ,Va., San Diego, Fallon, Nev., Mayport, Fla., Everett, Wash., Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Stennis Space Center, Miss., Suffolk, Va., Yokosuka, Japan, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2013.
Funding in the amount of $3.4 million was obligated at the time of the award, and will expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
Because it was deemed “Unusual and Compelling Urgency,” in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(A), the contract was non-competitively procured, the Defense Department said.
