Northrop takes on info sharing systems for DOD, Navy
Northrop Grumman has won an $8 million contract option with the Navy to operate two law enforcement information systems belonging to the Navy and to the Defense Department that allow law enforcement officials to share crime data.
Northrop Grumman has won an $8 million option for the operation and maintenance of two law enforcement information systems.
Under the option, Northrop Grumman will operate and maintain the Navy's criminal investigative service law enforcement information exchange system and Department of Defense law enforcement information system, the Defense Department said.
The information systems are used to share data among local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including the sharing of crime and incident data and tools for processing data, according to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
Work will be performed in McLean, Va., Quantico, Va., Seattle, Wash., Santa Ana, Calif., Camp Lejeune, N.C., Norfolk, Va., Jacksonville, Fla., Portland, Texas, and Raleigh, N.C., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2014.
No funding is being obligated at the time of the award, but will be issued upon individual task orders, the Defense Department said.
Two bids were received for this contract.
