Northrop wins $617M contract for Hawkeye UAVs

Northrop Grumman has won a $617 million contract modification to change a contract for Hawkeye unammed aerial vehicle production to a firm-fixed-price contract.

The original advance acquisition contract called for five Full Rate Production Lot 1 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.

The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft gives the warfighter expanded battlespace awareness, especially in the area of information operations. It delivers battle management, theater air and missile defense, and multiple sensor fusion capabilities in an airborne system, Northrop Grumman said.

Work will be performed in St. Augustine, Fla., Syracuse, N.Y., Bethpage, N.Y., El Segundo, Calif., Indianapolis, Ind., Menlo Park, Calif., Rolling Meadoes, Ill., and other locations, and is expected to be completed by June 2016.

Funding in the full amount of the contract modification is obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
