OFPP chief touts public-private rotation
OFPP's Joseph Jordan floats the idea of contracting officials moving back and forth between the public and private sector as a way of increasing recruitment and retention.
Joseph Jordan, administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, told a gathering of contracting executives earlier this week that there should be way for people to move back and forth between the public and private sector contracting communities.
“There are all sorts of issues, I know. But I refuse to say this is off the table,” he said at a Nashville, Tenn., meeting of the National Contract Management Association. His remarks were reported by Federal Times.
He said people should be able to bounce back and forth. His remarks were part of a discussion on the retaining and recruiting government contracting officers.
