Exelis wins $16M contract mod for Air Force R&D work

Exelis has won a contract to provide research and development work for the Air Force for threat assessments and other activities to support the warfighter.

Exelis has won a $16 million contract modification to provide the U.S. Air Force with research and development services.

The contract modification extends the total contract value to $40.9 million.

Exelis will perform research and development under the Integrated Demonstrations and Applications Research program to continue crucial threat assessments, technology evaluations and threat and technology model developments that support the needs of the warfighter, the Defense Department said.

Work will be performed at Clifton, N.J., and is expected to be completed by Feb. 19, 2015.
