29 companies win $855M Marine Corps logistics contract
The Marine Corps has made 30 awards to 29 companies under a $855 million contract that calls for logistics support services.
Twenty-nine companies have won an $854.6 million task order contact with the U.S. Navy to provide the Marine Corps with logistics support services.
This contract was awarded as part of the Marine Corps Logistics Support Services Contracts Program, and is comprised of three suites, the Defense Department said.
The first suite is reserved for 8(a) small businesses, and calls for IT daily support. Six awards were made for this suite.
The second suite also is reserved for small businesses, and calls for quality assurance support and support to Logistics Command Centers customers and subordinate commands. Five awards were made for this suite.
The third suite is unrestricted, and calls for program management and operations, information technology specialized support, training support, program support, distribution/supply support, maintenance support and technical data development support. Nineteen awards were made for this suite.

The performance-based contract has a base value of $170.9 million, and contains provisions for firm-fixed-price, time and material, labor hour and cost-plus-fixed-fee task orders.
The Marine Corps Logistics Command, also known as LOGCOM, and provides logistics and supply chain support globally for weapons systems and support services and supplies. Services the command supplies include maintenance and repair on equipment and prepositioning. It has major facilities in Barstow, Calif., and Albany, Ga., where this contract was let.
Work will be performed globally, and is expected to be completed by May 2014, or if options are exercised, by May 2018, or until the ceiling is reached, the Defense Department said.
Funds in the amount of $300,000 was obligated at the time of the award on the initial task order as the minimum guarantee, to be split evenly between the contractors, with each receiving $10,000. The funds will not expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
Forty-five bids were received for this contract.
