Small-biz support needed for Tricare

The Defense Department is collecting information from small businesses as it tries to develop a contract to support work on HIPAA compliance.

The Defense Department’s health care system, Tricare, is looking for small businesses to help in program and task coordination related to the electronic health standards.

Other services include preparing and developing requirements and tracking compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Tricare is looking for capability statements from small businesses as it developments its procurement strategy.

According to a sources sought notice, Tricare is looking for companies to provide information on their work with HIPAA electronic standards, related business practices, past-performance, management experience working with HIPAA standards and at least two client references.

The notice was posted April 22 and comments are due May 3.
