RFP released for $150M small-biz contract vehicle

The State Department is planning on acquiring a number of desktop computers, monitors, and other IT-related equipment via a $150 million small-business contract.

The State Department has released a request for proposals to create a $150 million small-business vehicle through which it can acquire desktop computers and monitors.

The products that the State Department will need are:

  • 22-inch LCD monitors
  • 2.5-inch removable hard drives
  • 3.5-inch internal hard drives
  • Desktop network fiber NIC
  • Desktop fire wire card
  • PKI Card Reader
  • RFID Tags

The idea behind this contract vehicle is aligned with the president’s management agenda initiative of expanded electronic government by using common information technology and facilitating information sharing across agencies, according to the FedBizOpps website.
