13 small businesses tapped for $250M Navy contract

Thirteen small businesses have been won $249.6 million task order contract by the U.S. Navy for command and control work.

The cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, which has provisions for fixed-price-incentive and firm-fixed-price orders, is performance-based, and has a base value of $49.9 million, but gets to nearly $250 million if options are exercised.

The winners are:

• DKW Communications Inc.
• Dynamic Network Enterprises
• ECSI International Inc.
• Imagine One StraCon Venture L.L.C.
• Integrated Technology Solutions Group Joint Venture
• Mandex Inc.
• Product Data Integration Technologies Inc.
• Network Security Systems Plus Inc.
• Sysorex Government Services Inc.

Under the contract, the companies will compete for task orders to proviide business and force support services, including research, development, test, evaluation, production and fielding services, the Defense Department said in a release.

These services will go toward sustainable, secure, survivable and interoperable command, control, communication, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance—or C5ISR—information operations, enterprise information services and space capabilities.

Funds in the amount of $15,000 are obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of fiscal 2013.

Work will be completed by January 2014, or by January 2018, if options are exercised.
