GSA plan industry day for new FBI HQ

The GSA is holding an industry day to give an overview of the project that will move the FBI headquarters to a state of the art location.

The General Services Administration will host an industry day meant to give an overview of the FBI Headquarters project to potential contractors.

According to a GSA announcement, the event is related to last month’s request for information that the GSA issued seeking ideas from the commercial real estate community and other interested parties on options for developing a new, consolidated FBI Headquarters.

Responses will help the GSA explore redevelopment possibilities for the current J. Edgar Hoover building, which is now outdated and overcrowded, for a new, state-of-the-art FBI Headquarters, the announcement said.

This project was spurred by GSA Acting Administrator Dan Tangherlini’s approach to property disposal, which the agency has used to promote efficient and effective government, better value, and the creation of greater opportunities for savings across the federal government, the agency said.

The event will take place at 1 p.m. this Thursday at the GSA Headquarters Auditorium; 1800 F Street, NW, Washington D.C.

Registration is required; to register, attendees must e-mail name(s) and contact information to fbi-rfi-rsvp@gsa.gov.
