Another incumbent fights for lost contract

eTouch is fighting to get back a lost NASA contract after the space agency awarded its web services contract to InfoZen.
Another incumbent is in a fight to recover a lost contract.
This time, it’s eTouch Federal, which lodged a protest with the Government Accountability Office over a $40 million contract it lost to InfoZen. The contract was to provide NASA with web services. eTouch is the incumbent for the work.
NASA awarded the contract to InfoZen as part of an effort to move an open source architecture. The company was to help NASA create, maintain and manage websites, including solutions around infrastructure, platform and software-as-a-service for internal and external websites and web applications.
Services include content management and search and collaborative services, such as blobs and wikis. NASA has 140 web applications and sites, internally and externally, used by the public, media, students, researchers, industry partners and government partners.
With the protest, the new work comes to a halt. GAO has an April 8 due date for a decision.
InfoZen’s CTO, Christopher David, told Washington Technology sister publication, FCW.com that he could not comment on details of the contract or InfoZen’s plans for NASA, due to the bid protest. Meanwhile, eTouch did not respond to requests for comment.
