Accenture will revamp SEC websites

Accenture will help the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission by modernizing its websites, online applications and intranet under a $13 million contract.

Accenture Federal Services has won a five-year, $13 million contract with the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission for major architectural improvements and redesign of its three public websites, various online tools and the agency’s intranet.

This contract is part of an ongoing initiative to enhance the technology infrastructure at the commission.

Services to support the website include visual redesign, content management, web search engine optimization, user analytics and site security, Accenture said.

Work will specifically include improvements and upgrades to SEC.gov and Investor.gov, which Accenture said helps investors conduct background checks on investment professionals and firms.

Ed Meehan, lead of Accenture’s federal civilian agency portfolio, discussed the commission’s strategy, saying that it has “been to leverage its resources wisely to create the greatest operational efficiencies and reduce life cycle costs.”

For this reason, he said he believes the redesign and other enhancements “will create a more robust and integrated system that is safe and secure, yet flexible to support evolving content.”
