SAIC unveils leadership team for spin-off

SAIC has picked the team that will lead the new company next year. Which insiders will make the leap?

Science Applications International Corp. has picked its current president of its intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance group to lead the IT and technical services business that will be spun out of SAIC next year.

Anthony Moraco will be the CEO of the new company, which is as yet unnamed. SAIC is spinning out the business as a new company because SAIC leaders believe growth opportunities are limited by the company’s current structure.

Joining Maraco at the new company will be:

  • Tom Baybrook, chief of administration and operations. He currently is the acting president of the defense group.
  • John Hartly, chief financial officer. He currently is SAIC senior vice president and corporate controller.
  • Deborah Lee James, president of technical services. She currently serves as executive vice president for communications and government affairs.
  • Nazzic Turner, president of enterprise IT. She recently joined SAIC from CGI Group.
  • Sandy Sanderson, currently an SAIC board member, will be chairman of the board for the new company.

At the heritage, SAIC company key leaders remain in place:

John Jumper, CEO and chairman.

  • Stu Shea, president and chief operating
  • Mark Sopp, CFO
  • Vince Maffeo, general counsel
  • Joe Craver, sector president, health, engineering and commerce

SAIC expects the spin off to be complete during the second half of its fiscal 2014, which ends Jan. 31, 2014.
