Accenture taps an insider as new federal leader

David Moskovitz, who joined Accenture 18 years ago, has been picked to fill the CEO post at Accenture Federal Services.
Accenture has picked an insider to lead its federal business, promoting David Moskovitz to CEO of Accenture Federal Services.
He’s an 18-year veteran of Accenture and most recently was the growth and strategy lead for the health and public service unit of Accenture Federal. He’s also led the company’s state and local business.
He replaces Kay Kapoor who left the company in September. She had led the federal unit for just under two years. John Goodman, managing director of Accenture’s defense and intelligence business, led the unit in the interim.
In his new role, Moskovitz will be responsible for the entire federal business, including setting strategic direction, positioning, client relationships and developing talent.
He will report to Stephen Rohleder, group chief executive of Accenture’s health and public service sector.
“David combines an understanding of the importance of providing exceptional client services with a strategic business background that is essential in today’s federal economic environment,” Rohleder said in a statement.
Before joining Accenture in 1994, Moskovitz worked for 12 years for the city of New York, including a stint as a deputy commissioner responsible for managing the city’s government infrastructure.
Moskovitz also serves as the chairman of the board of trustees for the Center for Employment Opportunities, a non-profit group that provides employment services to men and women returning home from prison.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington University, Missouri, and a public policy certificate from Claremont Graduate School.
